from Anand Talcherkar...
I have all along been quickly observing and enjoying your paintings. This particular one of the Nachnewali ( Dancer or Apsara ) is exceptional. The colourful fluidity of the motion is captured in limb and human form.
Not every female has the Beauty of India's Bollywood Stars..yet you have put into motion the colours in vibrancy on a human face. I see your artistic joy in a creation of yours which will survive long after you are long gone.
The paintings in the Ajanta Caves (In India) came to mind.
Stay well and pursue your gift to observe and transform with paint on canvas.
While it may mean very little to a casual eyeful it will stop the discerning eye for a period of time that only comes with one's cultivating and then preserving the curiosity and fun of the heart of the observer.
Keep going through your Art , Bhupen, and thus stay young forever.
My warm wishes to Nalini Tai (sister) , and You
As Always , sincerely

Subhash and Lalita....
I have known Bhupen for over six decades ...He was the artist of our 9th grade year book, had the art of giving form to signs in an expressive form, harmonious and skillful manner, I was sitting next to him and witnessed his passion and gift in Callifgraphy . Later on this morphed into drawings and paintings and Kalakar does it with passion, especially the female form.
The love for his soulmate is evident in the portrayal of dancers and Apsaras stylishly with sultry flowing hair comes to him naturally , and his partner is his inspiration and has modeled her in many of his paintings especially romantic figurative art that is his specialty.
My wife Lalita and I have enjoyed his paintings and still adore the portrait he gifted us that adores our home.
His coffee/chai table hardcover book is a real balm for the mind and soul...I wish him the very best in his mission to bring peace and love through art.
A Generous Artist.....He has given away his books and artwork to his School, Don Bosco High, Matunga , Bombay, India
